This song I came up with the hook one day thinking about war profiteering and how big the business of reconstruction is. Of course, you have to blow it up before you can rebuild... The second verse is about John Lennon, as I had recently read his biograpy.

Round and Round - West Bolz 9/2/2009
A boy at the beach built the Taj Mahal
A bully came by and knocked down it all
The boy was crushed, he sat down and cried
Til a pretty little girl came by his side
She took him by the hand and said it’s OK
Just forget about it, let’s go and play
When the castle made of sand fell into the sea
She looked me in the eye and said to me
The makers make, and the breakers break
And the fixers fix what the breakers shake
And it keeps on going round and round
Some days it’s up and some days it’s down
And you may wish that it all would end
But it just started all over again
Cause the makers make, the breakers break
And the fixers fix what the breakers shake
A young man made a truly rocking band
And they were number one all across the land
Another man said I wanna be number one
And he met him on the street and showed him his gun
He pulled the trigger and the man he died
And people round the world fell down and cried
Cause if you need seven and you’ve only got six
There are some things baby that you just can’t fix
Chorus
An ancient city was built of stone and glass
Halfway in the future, halfway in the past
Another city said we think that they could be trouble
So they sent out all their bombers and turned it all to rubble
They brought their own fixers, it was all renewed
They made a lot of money and the people got screwed
When the breakers run the show, then you better know
You gotta make way cause the story goes…
