This is a tune that I wrote a few years ago, starting with the intro bass riff from a jam session. The lyrics are about the feeling we all have sometimes that we are empty inside, those times when we can't find our passion, love, strength, etc. It is about struggle to maintain composure and have your voice be heard in a crazy world.
lyrics
I'm just a skeleton trying to keep myself together
I'm just a skeleton trying to get my head on straight
I'm like the tin man trying to find myself some heart
I'm such a thin man, 'cause I keep tearing me apart
How can you see right thru me?
Am I so empty inside?
How can you see right thru me with blind eyes?
I'm like a wingless bird trying to get myself off the ground
I'm like a silent word that's just dying to be heard
How can you see right thru me?
Am I so empty inside?
How can you see right thru me with blind eyes?
I'm just a skeleton
Somebody put me together
How can you see right thru me?
How can you see right thru me?
Am I so empty inside?
Am I empty inside?
How can you see right thru me?
How can you see? How can you see?
Am I so empty inside?
I'm like the tin man looking for a heart
How can you see right thru me with blind eyes?
