This is the chill version of Halcyon Days (read the other description for info). After not playing it in a band for years, I was strumming it acoustically and gradually it became like this. I began recording this version and midway thru, I listened to an old recording of me playing it with a band. The old version was much faster and rocking, so I decided to make both versions. This one features some of the players from my Latin group, Eta Carina, on perc and horns. The ending has a crazy merengue jam session with some hot saxophone work.
lyrics
Summertime, it's been on my mind
Oh yeah summertime, all the time
Summertime, drinking wine and feeling fine
Let's celebrate together
Sunny day we can play
and under the starts we'll lay
Gazing at the heavens
That's right
Let's come together
for Halcyon Days
We'll have a good time
In Halcyon Days
Losing time, walking the line
I saw a sign
Above the 7-11
Funny way you could say
The eyes are the only way
Guided by a vision
Allright,
Let's come together
For Halcyon Days
We'll have a good time
In Halcyon Days
I love the sands
Of distant lands can you understand
Euphoric feelings
We are braves crashing the waves
No more living like slaves
Living life of freedom
Come on,
Let's come together
For Halcyon Days
We'll have a good time
Yeah, let's come together
Oh, let's stay together
For Halcyon Days
We'll have a good time
