This is a song I wrote back in the late 90s. It is a smooth soul song about being crazy about someone. I went wild with the vocal on here compared with the studio version on Radiocity. Used a little bit of the Brazilian flavor on the guitar part.
lyrics
Something so smooth about the way you move
Something about your rhythm makes me groove
Something about your smile just drives me wild
Everything about you got so much style
You’re so fine, I’ve got to kiss you twice
Like sugar and spice with everything nice
You are my drug and I am a junkie
Cause you can make me calm, or crazy like a monkey
I’d like to be a king, but I am just a pauper
I don’t have a yacht, a mansion or a chopper
All I can give you is respect and love
These are the things I have plenty of
I love the essence
The essence of you, my love
I love the essence
The essence of you
You’re like a good book I just can’t put down
A history, a mystery that keeps me spellbound
Things that you do and things that you say
Excite my nights and fulfill my days
Like a ray of sunshine dancing on a lake
Like a starlit dream, though I’m still awake
Like the sweetest fruit on the tip of my tongue
You’re the greatest opera that’s yet to be sung
I’d spoil you rotten if I had the chance
With slow dance and romance in the south of France
But all I can give you is respect and love
These are the things I have plenty of
I love the essence
The essence of you, my love
I love the essence
The essence of you
All I can give you is respect and love
These are the things I have plenty of
