I wrote this tune recently because I've always liked the sound and vibe of the ukelele. I wanted to have a song that was as simple as possible, just one microphone, voice and uke. It turned out pretty nice, a sweet little ditty about desire. Makes you feel like you are at a campfire on the beach romancing your potential sweetheart, pleading for a kiss.
lyrics
I want to meet you outside your front door
I want to take you for a ride to the liqour store
My intentions are pure
But there ain't no cure for you babe
I want to sing you a song in the pale moonlight
I want to rock you all night long, that's right
I don't know for sure
But there ain't no cure for you babe
So far it's been all near misses
I pray that soon I'll feel your kisses
Just give me a sign and I'll be true
Girl you know that I've been waiting
Eagerly anticipating
That first loving touch from you
I want to take you on a cruise
The river Nile
I want to buy you new shoes
Italian style
Forgive my overture
But there ain't no cure for you babe
So far it's been all near misses
I pray that soon I'll feel your kisses
Just give me a sign and I'll be true
I want to meet you outside your front door
I want to take you for a ride to the liqour store
My intentions are pure
But there ain't no cure for you babe
I want to sing you a song in the pale moonlight
I want to rock you all night long, that's right
I don't know for sure
But there ain't no cure for you babe
